News Corporation (News Corp) is a international mass media company owned by Rupert Murdoch and his family. As a whole News Corp has a horizontal structure but inside this mass media machine sparks off certain vertical structures. News Corp runs a combination of different media's such as; publishing, radio, TV, newspapers. Owning massive TV powerhouse's such as FOX news. This means that News Corp in particular Rupert Murdoch has a massive influence on how the political structure is run in America, FOX backs the Republican candidate at every election putting massive amounts of money behind them forcing the most recent Presidential election to cost billions of dollars. Its not only in America News Corp has a grip on Politics in Britain the papers owned by News Corp (The Sun) during elections The Sun and The News Of The World (before it shut down in 2011 following the phone hacking scandal, which the Leveson Inquiry is currently investigation News Corp's involvement in the phone hacking scandal) would always publicly back the Tory, Conservative and Labour Parties pretty much changing each election.

different types of media
- publishing- the publishing industry is used to release a vary of books that vary in genre for instance; fiction, non-fiction, biographies and many more
- magazines- Magazines are used to get across to specific audiences on a more frequent basis, whether it be weekly, monthly or even yearly.
- newspapers- newspapers are used to spread news to a mass audience either via tabloid or broadsheet format.
- animation- animation industry has been used through the 20th century for different uses not just to entertain children but also has been used to get messages across.
- film- the film industry is used to make feature legnth movies with different genres. produced by various
- television- television is broadcasted to homes across the world.
- web 2.0- the web is on the computor and enables people to search for anything
- music- music industry produces music to be distrobuted over all different medias
- radio- radio is broadcasted over wave lengths to reach anyone. radio distrobutes various medias such as music, news, live coverage
- video games- video games are made to enable audiences to play on video consoles and can be used to spread messages as subliminal messages
